Legendary description: Lord Siva first established this temple and named it Virudha-kasi. Human beings, animals, birds etc when they come here at the last moment in their lives and die the Lord himself would chant the 'pancha-aksharam' for them to liberate their soul and the devi too would bless them. Because of this Virudha kasi is holier than Varanasi.
