Kalayana-Sundareswar at Nallure

The temple features:
This temple is located in Sundaragiri 5 kms in the eastern direction from Pabanasam. The carpet area of the temple is 1,82,400 sqft and is built on the south side of the banks of the river Kudamuriti. It has a five-stage tower and three corridors.(Pragarams)
The deity is called Kalyana sundaraswar and it is said that it is self incarnated in the east facing pose. The Lord's consort Devi Kalyana-Sundari has a separate sanctum also in the east facing pose.
The temple tree is bilvam and the theertham is called Sapta-sagaram
There are twenty three stone inscriptions here giving details of the kshetram
The saint who sang hymns on the Lord:
Thiru-gnana-sambadhar and Thirunavukarasar
Legend:
The miracle in this temple is that the deity changes it's colour every 2 1/2 hours in five different hues.
There was a sage called Bringi who was a great devotee of Lord siva alone. He never worshipped any God other than Siva.
Once devi parvathi  wished to test his devotion to her consort Siva. Hence she appeared as Ardha-nareeswara. The sage did not like this. So he took the form of a bumble bee and bored his way in between the Lord and Devi and thus did parikrama to the Lord only.
In that operation of Bringi the Lord's developed a number of holes and the Icon became gold in colour.
It is said that any one who takes a dip in the Saptha-Sagara-theertham in the all the 12 steps he would be free from diseases. for example According to scriptures, the devotee will derive equal benefits by having a bath in the tank of this temple as having one in the Mahamagam tank in Kumbakonam. Kundhidevi mother of Pandavas incurred dosha as she had children with devas. She approached Maharshi Naradha for a solution. Naradha suggested that she should have a dip in seven oceans for relief. When Kundhi Devi pleaded her inability to do so as women, Narada suggested that she should worship Lord Kalyana Sundareswarar in Thirunalure and he would offer the next suggestion then.So she obeyed and went to do worship Lord Kalyanasundareswarer. Before Kundhi finished her prayers here, Narada brought the waters of the seven oceans (Saptha Sagaram) to the tank in the temple on Maha Nakshatram day. Kundhi had her dip on the Maha Naktram day in the tank and was relieved of her dosha. Thus the Nallur temple tank derived equal importance as that of the Kumbakonam Mahamagam tank and even that 7 oceans offering high benefits to the devotees,
